Would Tarzan escape from the circus? Would Ruby agree to marry D.K.? All these questions are answered in the climax. Tarzan is chained and taken to the circus and made to spend the rest of his days performing various acts, thus leaving D.K. Tarzan is captured before Tarzan and Ruby's romance could take wing. Ruby's dad and D.K plan to capture Tarzan and take him to work for the Apollo Circus, owned by Krishnakant Verma. Tarzan has never interacted with the outside world and cannot speak any language well, but he is intrigued by Ruby, annoying D.K. Days later, Ruby does a number of misadventures and is rescued by an ape-like man called Tarzan and both fall in love. by her father and he would like her to marry D.K. This time Ruby also decides to accompany her father. The people who have tried to trace the tribe have never returned. Ruby's father often travels to the deep jungles of India in search of a fabled tribe in the Shakabhoomi region. Ruby Shetty and her widowed dad live a wealthy lifestyle. FUN FACT! United Artists was sued by the Edgar Rice Burroughs estate over the film.This is the popular story of Tarzan retold in the Hindi language. Overall, "Tarzan the Ape Man" is about as bad a film as can be made (I hope Richard Harris was paid handsomely for appearing), but it's sooooooooo bad, that it's absolutely worth watching, which is why I suppose Turner Classic Movies chose to air this unintentional laugh riot. These scenes were all likely intended to be titillating, but similarly to "Showgirl," they are anything but. Oh, and over the end credits, Bo is pawed by a real ape, an orangutan, which I'm hoping was some sort of nod to the 70s/80s ape cycle of comedies (i.e "Every Which Way But Loose," "Going Ape," "BJ and the Bear," etc.). "Tarzan the Ape Man" is so awful that it does achieve Ed Wood/Showgirls levels of so-bad-it's-good, which makes this film essential viewing for fans of bad cinema. Instead of this being a story about a man who was raised by apes, it's a story about the sexual awakening of Jane, and it's a ludicrously awful awakening. Edgar Rice Burroughs is reduced to softcore porn.
